Storing and Organising Your Children’s Toys
Kids often leave their toys lying in odd places around the house. This habit can quickly turn your home into a very cluttered place if you do not take the necessary steps to train your children on how to take better care of their playthings as well as provide them with the appropriate storage spaces so they can keep their stuff neat and organised. If your home has the extra space, you can create a playroom for your children where they can have the freedom to have as much fun as they want. Paint the walls a nice, cheerful colour like a bright sunshine yellow or select a wallpaper that has a fun, colourful design. Next, get some large boxes where your kids can keep their big toys such as playhouses or trucks. Decorate these boxes with various paints or markers. In fact, you can turn it into an arts and crafts project for you and your kids.

Get them to take part in the decorations and encourage them to personalise the boxes with their names as well as put labels on the lids so that they will better understand the concept of organising their toys and storing the items in the appropriate boxes. Other great storage options that you can use in the playroom are plastic containers of various colours, where your children can keep their small toys like doll accessories and action figures; and laundry baskets, where they can store stuffed animals and dolls. For toys that your kids no longer play with, you can arrange them on display in a shelf or bookcase. Aside from providing storage spaces for specific types of toys, you can also arrange the playroom to have different areas where your children can find certain toys. For example, you can designate one corner as a tea room for your little daughter where she can get to keep her favourite dolls and miniature tea cups, while another spot would be a jungle where your son can play with his dinosaurs and other toy animals. Finally, make sure that you provide some furnishings for the room such as small tables and chairs. If you would like to try something different, you can hang hammocks around the place or leave some large fluffy pillows on the floor where your children and their friends can sit in comfort while they play.
